Alex Elliott

Assistant Principal

I’m Alexandria Elliott - a proud WONDER ('99) - and as a member of our school/district leadership team I am delighted to join the ranks of an amazing faculty and staff who collaborate and support one another daily in an effort to motivate, inspire and build a community of healthy relationships with students and their families in Kannapolis City Schools at
A. L Brown High School.

Educational Biography
Following undergraduate studies in English and Special Education at Appalachian State University, I began my career in public school education at South Caldwell High School (Caldwell County).  Soon after, I returned to my alma mater for five years, ALBHS, and for the last 4 years, I have had the opportunity to learn and grow as a leader with hardworking staffs, students, and communities in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools as an academic facilitator and Dean of Students at West Charlotte and Mallard Creek High Schools.  While meeting the needs of staff, students, and communities in CMS, I earned a Masters in School Administration from Wingate University.

Educational Philosophy
As an educator, I believe children are our most significant resource in school communities. As adults, regardless of role/title, we must be committed to practices of engaging students and modeling for them consistently without conditions.  We must engage all students in the processes of learning, based on their personal abilities and learning capacity.  This must be done in such a way that they not only master content, but can apply learned skills and resourcefulness in various environments, so as to compete and gain opportunities beyond school walls.  We must model and lead for students authentically by communicating and exhibiting honesty, integrity, empathy, responsibility, and humility.
