Education and Experience:
B.S. Education in English Language Arts for Secondary Education from Bowling Green State University
Certified English Language Arts grades 6-12
National Board Certification in Adolescent English
AP Language and Composition Certification
Teacher Consultant for National Writing Project through UNCC
Teaching for Kannapolis City Schools since 2004
Teaching for A.L. Brown High School since 2013



Philosophy of Education:

Success in school begins with a positive experience in the classroom and ends with dedication to personal improvement and growth. I have high expectations for myself and for my students. It is my duty and passion to help realize students' potential and set up a foundation for success throughout high school. It is my expectation that students come to class everyday prepared to learn, participate, and that they desire their own success.

This Fall:

Student will need:
-a composition book (sewn spine, NO spirals)
-a folder
-writing utensils
-glue sticks

Students may want:
-scissors
-sticky notes
-highlighters
