ALB on modified lockdown

ALB on modified lockdown
Posted on 02/23/2018
LockdownToday ALB began the day under a modified lockdown. This  was due to a threat made on social media, which was specific to AL Brown and another high school. This threat, though specific, is not believed to be credible. Despite this, all threats to student safety are handled very seriously and investigated as serious threats until proven otherwise.

Dr. Parker communicated this process before school began to staff and to parents as well via phone calls and emails. The phone call stated:

"Good morning Wonder Nation, This is Todd Parker calling with an important message about our school day. We, too, have seen the social media posts regarding violence at A.L. Brown today. While we take these threats very seriously, we have no credible information that this is real. We are, however, operating u
nder the advisement of law enforcement today, and our school will begin the day on a modified lock-down while this threat is investigated. We also will have extra security on campus today.

We continue to work closely with law enforcement to take all necessary measures and precautions to be sure that our campus is safe for students and staff."

Instruction has continued throughout the day and school has continued on a normal schedule.

There will be no after school activities today after school.
